BETHEL, NY — The Bethel Lions Club have launched the 2026 scholarship cycle; the deadline to apply is Friday, May 22.

Applicants must be a full-time resident of the Town of Bethel, and a 2026 graduate of Monticello, Liberty or Sullivan West High School. Home-schooled or private school students residing in the Town of Bethel are also eligible to apply.

Completed applications must be returned to the school guidance counselor’s office before the close of the school day on May 22.

The Lions Club scholarship is weighted toward community and school service. A brief autobiography and description of the type of community and school service should be included with the application.

In addition to community and school service, the grant committee will look at academic and extracurricular activities.  A letter of reference from the school guidance counselor or a teacher must accompany the application.  Applications are available at school guidance offices or call Chad Phillips of the Bethel Lions Club at 914/443-6886.

Recipients will be invited back to the Bethel Lions during the summer following their freshman year to talk more about themselves, their college experience and how the scholarship helped them.
