HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Hospital’s (WMH) cardiac catheterization laboratory, the Heart & Vascular Center, marked 10 years in June. And it is busier than ever. “The number of patients in these first six months [of 2026] has already bypassed the entirety of last year’s volume,” Frank Reid, RN, cardiovascular care/cardiac catheterization lab coordinator, noted.
The team includes board certified interventional cardiologists Dr. Samir Pancholy and Dr. Muhammad Dogar, as well as cardiologists Dr. Haitham Abughnia and Dr. Joseph Laureti, along with certified registered nurse practitioner Lori Jordan, certified physician assistant Emily Byers, registered nurse Frank Reid and a full support staff of additional medical professionals.
The establishment of the cath lab was a direct response to community need and has resulted in many lives saved and many more improved, the hospital said. WMH “enters the cath lab’s second decade with a renewed commitment to high-quality cardiac care and will continue to expand and enhance its specialized cardiac service line.”
