TOWN OF TUSTEN, NY — Community group Tusten Social and the Narrowsburg Chamber of Commerce debuted this year's edition of the Narrowsburg field guide on June 2 with speeches and a round of bingo.

The Narrowsburg field guide, titled “37 Things To Know About Narrowsburg”, is a comprehensive list of facts about, history of and activities in the hamlet of Narrowsburg. The guide is intended for both locals and tourists in the area.

On Tuesday, Greta Knutzen, co-founder of Tusten Social, started the event by thanking everyone who worked on the guide for their contributions.

“If you notice any typos, keep them to yourself,” she joked.

Knutzen then invited Jorge Colombo, the designer behind the field guide, to the stage, thanking him for the “gorgeous little project you keep giving us” while handing him a bouquet of yellow flowers.

Colombo later told the River Reporter that he chose the number 37 because it’s “a little more broken” and “more convincing” being an odd number. He also suggested small paragraphs so the guide would flow better, as well as contributing original photographs. Colombo has lived in Narrowsburg with his wife, Amy Yoes, for eight years.

“What’s important is to be proud of where you live,” he commented. “Everybody collaborates with everybody, regardless of experience.”

Greg Triggs, co-founder of Tusten Social, then started an activity called “your guide to NBURG” which was a Narrowsburg themed bingo card that asked participants questions about the hamlet’s restaurants, businesses and history. The winner of Nburg bingo was awarded a tiny trophy from Knutzen.
