'Families Belong Together' rally in Monticello

Posted

Shortly after noon on June 30, there were about 80 people in front of the courthouse in Monticello, chanting, holding signs and generally speaking out against the way the the administration of President Donald Trump has handled immigration policy.  He has separated some 2300 immigrant children from their parents at the boarder, and it seems, despite a court order to reunite them, that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Trump administration has no plan in place to do so.

One of the organizors of the Monticello "Families Belong Together" rally is Sullivan County resident Kevin McDaniel. To hear a sound bit from him, click this link: http://soundcloud.com/fritz-mayer/zzz-mcdaniel-immigration
