On Tuesday April 7, 2015 The Monticello Police Department developed information that Alfred Franklin and Tina Esquilin, who were wanted by the Sheriff’s Office, were hiding at 19 Rock Ridge Rd. in Monticello. The residence belongs to a friend of Franklin.
The couple and their children had been the subject of an Amber alert in March. When they failed to appear in Family Court on April 1st, a warrant was issued for their arrest.
Armed with the warrant, Sheriff’s deputies and Monticello Police went to the residence and took Franklin, 30 and Esquilin, 27 into custody without incident.
They were arraigned before Family Court Judge Michael McGuire and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail each.
They are scheduled to appear in Family Court on Friday April 10, 2015 at 9:00AM.
The children had previously been removed from the couple's custody and placed with relatives.
