Deputies Raid a Marijuana Grow House in the Town of Lumberland

Posted

On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 144 Knight Road in Glen Spey.

At the location Deputies found a sophisticated marijuana growing operation. “The crop was in the process of being harvested,” said Sheriff Michael Schiff. “There were only about 20 plants left but we recovered approximately 50 pounds of marijuana that had been processed and was ready for sale,” said the Sheriff.

The non-descript house was located in a sleepy corner of the Town of Lumberland where neighbors were unlikely to suspect what was going on inside.

Deputies arrested Aron Joseph Feldstein, age 39, who gave the grow house as his address. Feldstein was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana in the First Degree, a Felony, and Unlawfully Growing Cannabis. He was arraigned before Town of Lumberland Judge Charles Fallon and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

He is due back in court January 14, 2014. The two-month long investigation was conducted by the Sheriff’s Gang and Narcotics Intelligence Unit and the search warrant application was prepared by the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office.
