Woman stole from Montgomery contruction company

New York State Police in Montgomery announce the arrest of Christine M. Coffey, age 47, of Staten Island, NY, who was charged with the felony charge of Grand Larceny in the second degree.

New York State Police BCI at Montgomery conducted a investigation which resulted in Coffey’s arrest. Coffey is accused of stealing in excess of $390,000 from her former employer in the Town of New Windsor. She was employed as a secretary for a local construction company and is accused of forging more than 600 company checks. She would then either cash or deposit the forged business checks into her bank account. Coffey engaged in this course of conduct over a period of several years resulting in the theft of approximately $390,000.

Christine M. Coffey was located and arrested in Staten Island by members of Troop NYC Violent Felony Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshall Service Regional Fugitive Task Force. She was arraigned before Town of New Windsor Town Justice Richard Thorpe and was committed to the Orange County Jail without bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 11/26/2013 in the Town of New Windsor Court.
