Drug Arrests in Monticello

MONTICELLO POLICE DEPARTMENT FELONY ARREST PRESS RELEASE

At 2:00 PM Saturday Monticello officers stopped a 1999 mercury sable being operated by Darren Schubert on Forestburg road for failing to signal. Upon further investigation officers located a crack pipe and hypodermic syringes in the vehicle. Schubert and his passenger price were then arrested.

While Courtney Price was waiting to be processed in the Monticello Police station she threw a black pouch that she had hidden on her person under a chair. Officers recovered the pouch and it was found to contain 4 tin foils containing more than 500 milligrams of crack cocaine, a crack pipe, 2 decks of heroin, a hypodermic syringe and marihuana.

Monticello police arrested Schubert (43) of Swan lake and Price(27)of Monticello on Saturday 8/24/13. Schubert was charged with misdemeanors for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.

Price was charged with felonies for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree and tampering with physical evidence. She was also charged with misdemeanors for criminal possession of controlled substance in the 7th degree and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument. She was also charged with unlawful possession of marihuana.

Schubert was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the village of Monticello court. Price was arraigned before village of Monticello justice Josephine Finn and remanded to the Sullivan county jail on $750.00 bail pending further court action.
