Manor brothers arrested for stealing drugs, money

On Tuesday, July 16 2013 the Village of Liberty Police Department arrested two brothers, Ryan J. Eck and Bryan J. Eck both 22 and of Livingston Manor, after an investigation into a residential burglary in the Village of Liberty.

Police began investigating on Monday, July 15 2013 around 11 a.m. when they received reports of two men walking in the roadway and attempting to stop passing vehicles and open their car doors.

Police responded and located the two men walking on Lake Street.

They were found to be in possession of illegal prescription controlled substances. Further investigation revealed that the two men had stolen the prescriptions, cash and a lawn mower from a residence on Carrier Street.

Both men were charged with burglary in the 2nd degree a felony, petit larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the 5th degree, misdemeanors. Both men were arraigned in the Town of Liberty Court and remanded to Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail (Bryan J. Eck) and $12,500 bail (Ryan J. Eck).
