Liberty man arrested for selling cocaine

On Friday July 20th, 2012 the detective division of the Village of Liberty Police Department executed a search warrant on an apartment located on North Main Street in the Village of Liberty. The execution of the search warrant was the culmination of an investigation into drug sales occurring at that location.

During the raid, police seized over $500 in cash, cocaine, packaging materials, scales, marihuana and an illegally possessed, loaded, 20 gauge shotgun with over 25 shotgun shells. Arrested was Ramon Gilliam, 37 of Liberty. Gilliam was charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree, both felonies, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, misdemeanors, and unlawful possession of marihuana, a violation. Gilliam is currently being held at the Village of Liberty Police Department awaiting arraignment at the time of press release.
