Honesdale bike rider cited in crash with car

On Wednesday 07/06/11 Honesdale Borough Police responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle collision at the intersection of 9th and Main Streets.

32 year old Andre Soto of Honesdale, was stopped on 9th Street, attempting to turn left onto Main Street. As Soto began to make a turn, a bicycle, operated by 22 year old Alaxender Solomito of Honesdale, crossed in front of Soto’s path. Soto struck Solomito knocking him to the ground. Solomito complained of pain to his right knee, but refused medical treatment. Soto was not injured in the collision.

Bicycle operator, Solomito, was cited for Section 3505(b) of the PA Vehicle Code, requiring bicycles to be operated in the same direction as the traffic flow, and Borough Ordinance 69-2, Operation of Bicycles on Sidewalk Prohibited.
