I’m Cynthia Dolan and I am running for Sullivan County Court Judge. The county court judge plays a critical role in the lives of average citizens. The county court judge oversees both criminal and civil matters including appellate cases from our town and village courts and is our surrogate court’s judge. Our county court judge must not only have judicial experience, legal experience, temperament and the education necessary to rule on legal matters, but also common sense, empathy and real-life experience to make sure that justice is served and that everyone is treated fairly and equally. I am running for county court judge to improve our quality of life and to develop a stronger and safer community where people want to live. I’m in my second term as town justice in the Town of Mamakating and I know from experience that when judges make good decisions for individual defendants and litigants, it positively impacts our community.

Friends, real justice doesn’t care if you are poor or wealthy and it is never political. Real criminal justice requires hard work to address underlying problems. It requires the establishment of diversionary courts and relationships within our community to turn lives around. That does not mean that people will not have to face the consequences of their actions. I have more than 20 years of legal experience handling cases involving your federally protected constitutional rights. I swore to uphold our State and Federal Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, and will continue to do so. I am known for being fair and for having the ability to professionally handle difficult cases. I rule without fear or favor. Please vote Dolan on November 5 to elect the first female Sullivan County court judge.
