NEW YORK STATE — U.S. Rep. Marc Molinaro (R, NY-19) recently launched Think DIFFERENTLY: Stories, an initiative for residents in New York’s 19th Congressional District to share stories, experiences and feedback.
In 2015, Molinaro—then the Dutchess County Executive—began the Think DIFFERENTLY initiative, which aims to break down barriers for individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.
The new project will compile stories that bring awareness to the challenges faced by the disability community. It will also be a forum in which constituents can share feedback and ideas for supporting individuals with disabilities.
“The experiences of families with disabilities can be isolating,” Molinaro said. “As the father of four children, one of whom is on the autism spectrum, I know this feeling… Families with disabilities face tremendous barriers to navigate bureaucracies, access support services, get quality education and find meaningful job opportunities.”
Questions and feedback can be shared with Molinaro through his website or by calling his offices. Visit www.molinaro.house.gov/.
