VARDEN, PA — Varden Conservation Area will hold the first of its 2013 environmental education programs, an early spring wildflower walk with the park naturalist, on Thursday, April 25 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Tannery Access off Route 296. This walk is a part of the “Celebration of the Military Child Outdoors” program. It is open to everyone ages 10 and up. Registration is requested at 570/676-0567 or by emailing PromisedLandEnvEdSp@pa.gov.
A limited number of “Newcomb’s Wildflower Guides” will be provided. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, contact Promised Land State Park at 570/676-0567.
