Jean Case

Jean Case, 85 years old, of Welcome Lake, PA, passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside on June 12, 2014. She was born on September 5, 1928 in Ozone Park, NY. Her parents were the late John and Irene Mach.

Jean was married to the late William Virgil Case on February 5, 1956.

Jean graduated from Damascus School and led a very active life.

Jean and Bill owned and operated the Grandview Boarding House for more than 30 years. After that, she was the secretary and owner of Bill Case Polaris and Case Construction for 45 years. Jean was an active volunteer with the Welcome Lake Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Ladies Aide. Along with helping with the Election Day dinners, she was a secretary on the Lackawaxen Township Planning Board. Jean was a family oriented person who loved to spend time with her family, watching her grandkids and great-grandkids in the pool, and making pizza on Sunday nights. She loved to make giant family dinners on Thanksgiving and Christmas, when everyone was around. She loved to camp, snowmobile and four-wheeler with her family with her Collies. She loved to watch the birds and admire her White Faced Hereford Cows.

She is survived by her sister, Irene Yerkes of Milanville, PA; her daughter, Debra Gries and her husband Charles Gries; along with her four sons, William Case and wife Kim; Doug Case and wife Susan; Mark Case and wife Joyce; and Craig Case and companion Nancy Robinson. Jean had 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and counting. She loved us all and was loved in return.

There will be a private funeral service at the convenience of the family at the Lake View Cemetery.
