Robert F. Garde of Olyphant, PA and formerly of Narrowsburg, NY, a longtime resident of the area, died unexpectedly on Tuesday September 13, 2011 at home. He was 57.

The son of the late Thomas and Rita Walsh Garde, he was born January 31, 1954 in New York City.

Robert served in the U.S. Air Force. Robert attended Grace Episcopal Church, Honesdale, PA.

A family statement reads: “Robert expressed his love of food, art and music through the countless ways he volunteered and served his community. His friends and family will cherish the memories of long meals, lots of laughter and Robert’s music.”

Robert is survived by his siblings Theresa Fuchs of Matthews, NC, Peter Grieco of New York, Doreen Dial of San Diego, CA, Thomas Mattimore of Sebring, FL, Donna Ouderkirk of Prompton, PA, Jeanmarie Taninies of Honesdale, PA, Michelle Rembish of Beach Lake, PA, Christine Garde of New York City, Pauline Klusmeyer of Honesdale, PA and their families.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Grace Episcopal Church, Honesdale. Burial of the cremains will be at the convenience of the family in St. Francis Cemetery, Narrowsburg.
