Walter “Wallyworld” Siegl, of Wallkill, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Vassar Brother’s Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was 64.
Son of the late Anton and Johanna Gargar Siegl, he was born on March 13, 1946 in the Bronx, NY.
A hard and dedicated worker, Walter was a dockworker for Dellwood Dairy in Yonkers, NY and also worked for Foam & Wash Car Wash. An avid fisherman, known for his sense of humor, Walter loved his family and put others’ needs before his own.
He is survived by his children Frederick Salyer of Glen Spey, NY, Robert Salyer of New Windsor, NY and Christina Salyer of Plattekill, NY; the children’s mother, Kim Siegl of Honesdale, PA; brother Anton Siegl Jr.; sisters Hilda Dral and husband Marcel, and Linda Polchinski and husband, Philip; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Walter is predeceased by a sister-in-law.
Funeral services took place on Thursday, March 10 at Brooks Funeral Home, Newburgh, NY. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh. Visit BrooksFH.com.
