Grahamsville man arrested for growing pot

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — On September 16 the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 4 Van Dr. in Grahamsville. At the residence deputies found a marijuana garden consisting of 14 mature plants.

Deputies arrested the resident Gregory L. Meyers, age 59, for criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony and unlawfully growing cannabis.

The total weight of the marijuana recovered was approximately 3.5 pounds. Meyers, who has a prior felony conviction, was also found to be in possession of several rifles and shotguns. He was additionally charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon. Meyers was arraigned before Town of Fallsburg Judge Amanda Ward and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $45,000 bail.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by U.S. Homeland Security Investigations.
