HAWLEY, PA — Two new borough council members took their seats during Hawley’s annual reorganizational meeting on January 6.

Martin Cox and Ann Monaghan will be the new faces on council in 2014. The two were sworn in by Mayor Kevin Hawk, who is beginning his second term as mayor.

The newcomers said they were looking forward to serving the borough.

Cox and Monaghan were elected last November. Monaghan started her term in December to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Councilman John Robertson.

Donald Kyzer was re-appointed as council president; Mary Sanders was appointed vice president. Other returning council members are Michele Rojas, Elaine Herzog and Joseph Faubel.

Council made several appointments during the reorganizational meeting, all of which reflect last year’s appointments.

They include Andrea Racht, treasurer; Lea Peoples, secretary; Jesy Coca, assistant secretary; Klemeyer, Farley & Berthany, solicitor; Fred Nemac, zoning officer; Roger Smyth, maintenance code officer; Kiley & Associates, borough engineers; Kevin Hawk, emergency management coordinator; Mary Sanders, assistant emergency management coordinator; Tim Farrell, auditor; A.M. Skier, insurance agent; and Andrea Racht, open records officer.

Hawley council meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at borough hall on Route 6.
