I am writing to add to the article in last week’s edition regarding our storm and the ensuing blackout. We should give some thanks to the new owner of the Country Store in Narrowsburg, Mohammed Koli, for his presence, and the fact that he stayed open despite having no power. He restocked his ice machine at least four times that I know of and remained open Friday night past 11 p.m.
His reason was simple: Peck’s closing would be an inconvenience to the townspeople, especially on a holiday weekend. Despite staying open late Friday night, he reopened early Saturday and I was able to buy my fifth bag of ice. I would urge all your readers to stop by and give support to this gentleman with some of your business. Hopefully, we will soon have a place to buy gas again.
