RICHARD ‘DICK’ CRUMLEY

Richard “Dick” Crumley of Mongaup Valley, NY died on May 27, 2012 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY from complications from lung disease. He was 69.

He was a direct descendant of John Crumley, who emigrated from New York City to the Fraser Settlement in Bethel in 1808.

Funeral services were held on June 1 at the Mongaup Valley United Methodist Church with The Rev. Randolph Yerkes officiating.

Burial followd at VanKeuren Cemetery in Swan Lake, NY.

Dorothy “Dot” Geary, of Matamoras, PA and formerly a lifetime resident of Pond Eddy, NY, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, NY. She was 76.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, June 3, at the Pond Eddy United Methodist Church, Pond Eddy, with Rev. Nancy Vonderhorst officiating.

Doris Edith Klein, a retired legal secretary, and longtime resident of the area, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her home in Forestburgh. She was 89.

A funeral service was held on Friday, June 1 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Monticello with Mo. Ninon Hutchinson officiating.

Burial followed at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello.

Elmer G. Masurack Jr. of Matamoras, PA passed away Monday May 7, 2012 at his home. He was 75.

Memorial services were held Saturday, May 12, at the United Methodist Church of Matamoras, where Rev. Lora Villinger officiated.

Private interment took place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Matamoras.

Thomas R. White of Odessa, TX, formerly of Callicoon, NY, died on Friday, May 25, 2012 in Odessa. He was 89.

He served as editor of the Sullivan County Democrat in Callicoon and later as an editor and board member of Highlights for Children in Honesdale, PA.

A memorial mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 29, at Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church on Odessa, with Fr. Mark Woodruff officiating. Inurnment was made in the columbarium at the church.
