Laura Jane Brown of Liberty, NY, a lifelong Sullivan County resident, passed away on Friday February 17, 2012 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 69.

The daughter of the late Alfred and Mae Turk Ferguson, she was born on March 1, 1942 in Horton, NY. She was the widow of Robert William Brown, who died in 2004.

Laura was a member of the Community United Methodist Churches of Bethel in Kauneonga Lake, NY.

Survivors include her sons Robert A. Brown and wife Marge of Sackett Lake, NY and Joseph A. Brown of Ogdenburg, NY; daughter Annette Brown of Liberty; sister Judy Morgan of Jeffersonville, NY; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces Dawn Morgan and Debbie Gessling.

A brother, Alfred Ferguson; and a daughter, Pattie Brown predeceased her.

Funeral services were held on February 22 at Ramsay’s Funeral Home, Liberty, with Paul Minton officiating.

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
