HAWLEY, PA — Gianni Iona, a student at Wallenpaupack Area High School, was named the 2014-2015 Pennsylvannia Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) Student of the Year. Pennsylvania SADD is a statewide school-based, peer-to-peer prevention, education and activism organization. Chosen from a statewide pool of highly qualified applicants, he will begin his term on June 30.

As the PA SADD Student of the year Gianni will also advise the PA SADD Office on campaigns, projects and trainings conducted by PA SADD. He will also serve as the spokesperson for PA SADD students at conferences, meetings and will give a youth perspective to the media as it relates to the mission of SADD. The Student of the Year is encouraged to continue work with his or her school-based SADD chapter and community organizations, and must also be in and remain in good academic standing.
