HONESDALE, PA — The public is invited to tour a sustainable farm in Dyberry Township on Sunday, June 8 at 12 noon. Old School Farm, 303 Upper Woods Rd., is a small bio-diverse farm in its beginning stages, specializing in growing vegetables following organic practices. Free-range organic eggs are available most of the year.
The tour will include a look at the farm’s vegetable plots, Icelandic sheep, fruit orchards and moss trails. To round out the day, the farm’s hosts will make pizza in their massive handmade, wood-fired cob oven. (There is a suggested donation of $10 for the pizza, but the tour is free.)
This is one of three summertime farm tours hosted by Wayne County farmers/members of PASA (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture) and Wayne County Grown. For more information, call 570/253-5711.
