Off the common path: Durnin performs at the Dancing Cat

Posted

BETHEL, NY — Molly Durnin, an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from the Albany area, will perform at the Dancing Cat Saloon on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. Her style won her top awards at Albany’s Exit Factor competition and the Capital Area Indie Fest last year (www.mollydurnin.com).

Durnin started composing music around age 14, creating soundtracks for her brother’s movies on piano and synthesizer. Later, she picked up the guitar, which has become her performance staple.

The topics of Durnin’s songs are often off the common path, as she ponders everything from the freedom of foxes, to the existence of extraterrestrials, to the story of a mermaid stranded by a sailor dreaming of revenge.

Food and drink are available before or during the performance. Visit www.dancingcatsaloon or call 845/583-3141.
