LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The eighth annual Trout Parade will be held on Saturday, June 11. Attendees can expect to find fishy fun along Main Street from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. including specialty foods from local vendors, an arts and crafts fair and children’s activities. The parade will step off at 1 p.m., led by the 2011 Grand Marshal Ramsay Adams, executive director of Catskill Mountainkeeper. He will be followed by a wide variety of music, entertainment and floats representing local businesses, organizations and performance groups from this area and beyond, including the legendary Brooklyn-based brass ensemble, the Hungry March Band.

This year is the first Trout Parade Marching Band Competition, sponsored by Arts at The Laundry King. School groups, community groups and any merry making marching group are welcome to come play your bugles and drums to a fishy tune. Call 607/498-4389.

After the Trout Parade, the party continues with local band The Raddyos on the Main Street Stage. From 2 to 6 p.m. there will be two additional events: the Johnny Darling Frolic, a folk festival of music and dance at Water Wheel Junction, also on Main Street, and a Family Day in the Country Car Cruise hosted by the Any Make, Any Model Car Club which, after participating in the parade, will have cars on view at the Sonoma Falls Cider Mill and Country Store.

There will be a silent auction benefit at the CAS Arts Center from 6 to 8 p.m. Bid on and take home the work of local artists in support of CAS. There will be live entertainment and refreshments. Visit www.catskillartsociety.org.
