Family Fun Day at Billy’s New Hope

HONESDALE, PA — Billy’s New Hope Barn will hold a Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 15 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. There will be barn tours to meet the animals, music with a local DJ, games and crafts for kids, yard sale, refreshments and a bake sale, an Eagles football team basket raffle and genuine pig paintings.

Heaves in horses

Heaves, also known as recurrent airway obstruction (RAO), is a chronic respiratory disease of horses. It is similar to that of asthma in humans. Heaves is a common and serious condition that affects 15% of mature horses (typically over seven years of age).

Diabetes in cats

Diabetes mellitus, or “sugar diabetes,” is a disease of the pancreas that results in the body’s inability to either make or use insulin. The pancreas is a small organ located near the stomach, very much like the pancreas in humans. The pancreas provides two functions. One is to produce enzymes that help with digestion.
