BETHANY, PA — The Bethany 4-H Club has had a busy start to the new year! In February, members made Valentine’s crafts for residents of Bethany Village.

In March, we made posters to celebrate PA 4-H Week and collected items for the Dessin Animal Shelter.

In April, we had fun creating Easter crafts for the residents of Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, and we did roadside cleanup for Earth Day.

We have many more community services and activities planned throughout the year.

Here are some fun facts about 4-H : 4-H is the largest youth development organization in the United States, with nearly six million members. The four Hs in 4-H stand for head, heart, hands and health. 4-H has a long history, dating back to the 1900s. And the 4-H program operates in 80 countries around the world!

If you are interested in joining 4-H in Wayne County, contact the Penn State Extension Office at 570/616-0880.
