LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — Snow and ice are on repeat here in the Sullivan Catskills, but there are still so many activities both indoors and outdoors! Let’s take a look at what is happening:

The Liberty Elks Lodge presents the Youth Ice Fishing Contest at Swan Lake on Saturday, February 12, starting at 7 a.m. Ages two to 16 can compete, and there are prizes for all age groups. Visit the Liberty Elks Lodge on Facebook for more information at https://www.facebook.com/libertyelks1545.

The Neversink first annual Winterfest is Saturday, February 12 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the Grahamsville Fairgrounds. There is a bevy of activities for families, including ice skating, craft vendors, ice sculptures, food and other activities, depending on the weather.

Head to the Villa Roma for skiing, snowboarding, and tubing on Friday nights, with $20 lift tickets and $20 rentals. Each lift ticket comes with a slice of pizza and a drink.

Keep your eyes peeled for new information from the New Cochecton Youth Commission about attending a hockey game soon. Like the group of Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100057690690213 to keep up to date on their events and happenings.

Don’t forget the Join Sullivan Fire program is happening on Saturday, February 12 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at The Kartrite Resort & Indoor Water Park. Be sure to register as seating is limited. Visit https://www.tinyurl.com/sullivansuccess.

Valentine’s Day is coming up quickly; a romantic dinner is always a good idea at one of our local eating establishments. Plus, shop local; The Secret Garden in Jeffersonville has re-opened on February 4 with numerous new Valentine’s Day items for everyone on your gift list and price point. Gorgeous table runners, bee-themed items, hand-crafted soaps and stuffed animals are just a few of the sweet goodies I have seen in their huge location next to the post office on Main Street.

Mark your calendar for a free Sullivan County youth baseball/softball clinic for boys and girls ages seven to 12. It’s sponsored by the Pete DeVantier Foundation (Roscoe, NY) and the SUNY Sullivan baseball team. The clinic takes place on March 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at SUNY Sullivan.
