“Diadem” is a traditional word for “jeweled crown”—sculpted here by splashing water, Arctic air and hydrogen atoms bonding into points and curlicues.
On rural roads, a ditch may lead to a culvert where a little stream trundles down, with riffles to make the water splash, and a few twigs where droplets can cling and freeze. This one’s near Milanville, in Damascus Township.
