NARROWSBURG, NY — New York State troopers have taken a white sheet that was said to be found hanging on the Narrowsburg bridge; the sheet allegedly had “KKK” written on it, as well as a reference to “lynching.” An eyewitness account, sent to the River Reporter in an email, recounted that there were two state trooper cars at the bridge in association with the sheet on Saturday, November 2 at 4:30 p.m.

New York State Trooper Jennifer Alvarez confirmed that the sheet has been removed from the bridge, and is in police custody. They are unwilling to release the exact wording at this time. The police had no suspects at press time on Monday, November 4.

Trooper Alvarez  told the River Reporter on  Thursday, November 7 "that there is no immediate threat to the public." She said the investigators on the case are following leads. That was all of the information the trooper provided as of Thursday afternoon.

The New York State Police request that anyone with any information call 800/448-3847.

Editor's Note: This article originally misattributed information to a different state trooper with the same last name and has been updated to accurately reflect Jennifer Alvarez as the correct state trooper as of 2:25 PM on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Whomever did that is living a sad existence.

Hopefully next time that person will take a deep breathe and instead enjoy the beautiful view that we all share.

But that is an absolutely GORGEOUS photo.
