Where to eat in Cochecton

This Sunday was such a beautiful day: 76 and sunny, I hope the weather stays nice. Sundays are my day to go food shopping. I took the long way home. It was so nice to be out and about. When I pulled into my driveway I opened the door and just sat there and took in some sun. Will we ever go back to normal whatever that was.

There is a new way of eating out: It's called take out and eat it at home.

I find out all my info on Facebook, III Cheers Bar & Grill has this on their page. Due to developments in this pandemic, we regretfully inform you we won't be opening our doors for food service until further notice.

Fosterdale Country Café is happy to announce they will be opening up on May 20th. They have downsized their menu and it will be take out only. They will be following social distancing, they ask their customers to do the same. Cochecton Fire Station Restaurant is open 7 days a week from noon till whenever they are finished for the day. They do ask that you get your food and drink order in before 7 p.m.

All food and drinks are take out only. Annie's Ruff Cut Bar & Grill, with the nice weather, will be offering their carhop service. It just like when you were a kid and went to the drive-in movies. You call in your order they hook up a tray to your window and bring your food out to you. They also do take out only.

Henning's Local is doing a patio pickup but I am not sure if it is weekends only. Lakeview Pizza and Bar is closed, I have no clue what is going on with the old Pete's Pub and Heinle's. Please check out their Facebook pages and you can find the address, phone number, and hours. For a little town, we sure do have a lot of restaurants—eight that I could think of.

If I forgot anyone I am sorry but I been picking Peggy Richardson's brain to help me. Were there other restaurants back in the day? When I look at the Lake Huntington Page on Facebook and all the people and cars back in the 1930-40s, my first thought is where did they all go to the bathroom and where did they all eat.

I have not heard any news about clean up day, maybe in the May meeting they will pick a date. If so I will let you know.

Stay safe wash your hands and wear your mask.

Keep smiling and have a great week and you can e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
