First fall Sullivan County Audubon meeting

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — On Thursday, September 19, the Sullivan County Audubon Society (SCAS) will hold its first fall meeting at 6 p.m. in room B113 at SUNY Sullivan College. A light supper will be provided prior to the presentation, and all are invited to attend.

This meeting is an opportunity for residents of Sullivan County, the biggest area of the Delaware River Watershed in NYS, to learn firsthand from the NYC Enviornmental Protection Deputy Director of Research Application, Ira Stern.

Seed saving with the Dirt Diva

DAMASCUS, PA — Ecologist, landscape designer, master gardener and performing member of Farm Arts Collective Adrianna Picciano, aka the Dirt Diva, will present a seed-saving workshop on Saturday, September 14 at Farm Arts Collective at Willow Wisp Organic Farm, located at 38 Hickory Ln.

The workshop costs $15 and is part of the ongoing “Farm Days” workshop series that focuses on farming, food, ecology and theatre. To register, visit www.farmartscollective.org.

Flower arranging workshop at Narrowsburg Farmers’ Market

NARROWSBURG, NY — On Saturday, September 14 at 10:30 a.m. at the farmers’ market at the Narrowsburg Union, join Tannis from Farm Arts Collective and Willow Wisp Farm for a hands-on flower arranging workshop. Suggested donation is $10. Bring a small necked vessel or vase to hold about 10 stems.
