What do you think about the Second Amendment Sanctuary movement?

When an area declares itself as a Second Amendment Sanctuary, it’s telling the federal government that it won’t comply with certain gun control laws. It is an indicator of the political will of a community.

Both Damascus and Dyberry townships in Wayne County have adopted resolutions indicating their support of this designation. Other communities are exploring passing similar resolutions.

River Reporter would like to hear your thoughts about how you feel about this designation, which is described as mostly symbolic, and how you think it could be implemented; consider one municipality acting as a sanctuary versus a neighboring municipality complying with federal gun control laws.

River Reporter encourages that you make your argument in a positive way, advocating for your position rather than knocking down the opposing view.
