HONESDALE, PA— Wayne County Deputy Sheriff Ronald Kominiski and his partner K9 Manfred assisted Honesdale Borough Police in arresting a man for possession of methamphetamine on Monday, September 9, according to a press release from District Attorney Pat Robinson.

According to Honesdale police, Sergeant Donald Thatcher pulled over 36-year-old Jeffery Drumm, formerly of Lakewood, PA, on Court Street in Honesdale because of an expired inspection sticker. Kominski and Manfred arrived on the scene, and Drumm gave permission for Manfred to search his car. The K9 alerted officers to the passenger side of the vehicle, where they found two grams of suspected meth, and two small packages containing suspected meth residue. The officers also discovered a protection from abuse order prohibiting Drumm from having contact with the person who was in the car with him at the time.

Drumm was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance and for violating the order. He was arraigned and released on $10,000 unsecured bail for the drug charge, but was remanded to the Wayne County Correctional Facility after failing to post $2,000 bail for the protection from abuse violation.

His court date regarding the drug charge is set for September 18 at 9 a.m. A court date for the other charge has not yet been determined.
