HONESDALE, PA — It’s back!  2022 marks the 160th anniversary of the Wayne County Fair.

The fair, one of the largest in northeastern PA, will run from Friday, August 5 through Saturday, August 13.

“The nine-day fair offers shows, rides, games, food and of course, farm,” a spokesperson said.

With 26 rides and an ever-expanding kiddie land, there’s something for everyone, organizers promised.

The cost is $12 per day, per person, and that includes the rides, parking, animals, exhibits and most entertainment. The fair also offers two days for seniors 62 and over to attend at half price. This year, veterans and active military personnel will receive the same deal on August 5 and August 10.

The Wayne County Fair celebrates the area’s rich agricultural history with numerous exhibits, contests and farm animals. There will be pony and tractor pulls, plus a 4-H competition featuring local animals raised by local kids. At the north end of the midway, you’ll find horses, cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits and more.

New to the fair’s entertainment schedule is a daily “Wild West Showdown.” Michael Griffin, escape artist, will also appear for the first time. Cover bands Gypsy and the Best of the Eagles will appear at the grandstand.

Entertainment favorites will also return to both the small stage and grandstand, including the Black Cat Hell Drivers, Rosaire’s Royal Racing Pigs, Dino Roar and Buffalo and Brandy— plus two nights of the demolition derby, harness racing and monster trucks.

And, of course, there’s food.

“The 160th Wayne County Fair is a family tradition where farm meets food and fun,” the spokesperson said. For more information on entertainment and the full schedule of events, visit waynecountyfair.com.
