PIKE COUNTY — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) invites the public to an online plan display regarding the Route 434 culvert rehabilitation project. This project is located over a Branch to Balliard Creek in Lackawaxen Township, approximately 0.5 miles east of the Town of Greeley.
The project consists of rehabilitating the existing concrete arch culvert. Repairs to the existing bridge include but are not limited to concrete repairs, removal and reconstruction of the ends of the arch, headwalls, wingwalls and apron, and installation of concrete cutoff walls.
The purpose of this project is to address structural deficiencies of the bridge and provide continued safe and efficient crossing at this location.
The project is currently in design and construction work is anticipated to take place in the 2027 construction season.
The plans display will be held online and will be available through July.
