Walter P. Jasper, a long-time resident of Eldred, NY, died Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, PA. He was 82.

Walter was born February 14, 1930 in Maspeth, Queens to Ida Tinnemeier and Walter Jasper. He was the widower of Anita Louise Jasper and pre-deceased by infant grandson, Patrick Luke Jasper.

Walter served his country after being drafted on May 18, 1951 during the Korean War. He served with the 62nd AAA outfit in Viernheim, Germany. He was a truck driver all of his life, loved what he did and enjoyed seeing all 48 states in his R-Model Mack truck.

He is survived by his brother, Robert of Miller Place, Long Island, NY; cousin Ann Newhart of West Chester, PA; son Walter and companion Denise Roberts of Beaver Brook, NY; son and daughter-in-law Erick and Mary Jasper of Eldred. Also, his grandchildren, who he loved dearly: Amanda Mall, Ryan, Kyle, Brian and Luke.

A memorial service will be held at the Beaver Brook Pavilion, Saturday, June 9th at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate Walter’s life. All are welcome to attend.
