LIBERTY, NY — Starting April 3, Sullivan County’s Department of Community Services is increasing walk-in service times for those seeking mental health, substance use or other therapeutic assistance.
“Based on usage patterns and to better serve those who can’t or don’t want to wait for an appointment, the Department of Community Services will welcome walk-ins every Tuesday from late morning until 7 p.m.,” said Salif Banse, the county’s community services director. “And our mental health clinic will continue to accept walk-ins every Thursday between 9 a.m. and noon.”
The Department of Community Services offers individual psychotherapy, marital and family counseling, group therapy (not offered during extended Tuesday hours), medication therapy, crisis intervention/outreach, court evaluations, consultation and education, case management, anger management, and coordinated children’s services. For more information, call program manager Katherine Johnson at 845-292-8770 or email her at Katherine.johnson@sullivanny.us.
