SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — In the race to become the county legislator for District Two, which includes the towns of Lumberland, Forestburgh and parts of Highland and Mamakating, incumbent Nadia Rajsz polled ahead of Kathleen LaBuda for the Democratic nomination by a vote of 156 to 143. In the vote for the Independence line, LaBuda bested Rajsz by a vote of 23 to 7. If Rajsz maintains the lead on the largest party lines after the absentee ballots are counted, in November, Rajsz will run on the Republican and Democratic lines, while LaBuda will run on the Independence and Conservative lines.

In the race for the Republican nomination to become the supervisor of the Town of Tusten, former supervisor Ben Johnson beat current supervisor Carol Wingert by a vote of 75 to 5. Wingert announced in May that she was withdrawing from the race, but it was too late to remove her name from the ballot.

In the race for the Democratic nomination of town justice in the Town of Bethel, Cindy Barber outpolled Susan Harte by a vote of 150 to 84, but in the primary for the Republican nomination Harte won 87 to 60. On the Conservative line, Barber came in first, 15 to 13 and on the Green line the candidates tied 2 to 2.

In the race to pick up the Democratic nomination to become supervisor of the Town of Mamakating, Janet Lybolt outpolled Brenda Giraldi by a margin of 228 to 178.
In the race for two slots on the Republican ballot for a council seat in the Town of Thompson, Chet Smith received 181 votes, Scott Mace received 277 and Marlena Benjamin received 148.

In the race for the Independence endorsement for the county legislative seat in District Three, which includes the Towns of Rockland, Neversink and part of Liberty, Joseph Colón received 2 votes and Michael Brooks received 12.
