Ukraine is an excellent investment 

Thirty-four years ago, I stood in the Golan Heights overlooking Syria towards Damascus and wondered. 

The support the United States has shown in Ukraine was quintessential in distracting Russia from supporting the Syrian Regime in every way, it was Russia of course who came to the rescue of the government in its first overseas foray since its disastrous decade in Afghanistan. 

The loss of Syrian access to its only Mediterranean port for the pathetic Russian Navy seriously inhibits it from conducting sorties into the region. 

Putin and his cronies in the Kremlin have now lost Syria and while that is the reason for celebrating, the true loser here is Iran.

The horrific October 7, 2023, Hamas action—which murdered 1,200 men, women, children, and babies—awoke a most resolute Israel that took no hesitation in decimating Hamas and using the momentum to obliterate Hezbollah. Those actions eliminated the two major buffer proxies it utilized to expand terror to the region.

The Israeli raid into Iran which eliminated nearly all of its air defenses, seriously damaged its nuclear ambitions, and sent shockwaves through the Middle East is a sign of things to come as Tehran is now isolated in many ways. 

Let us also remember that it was a calculated decision by then-President Trump to surgically remove the leader of Iran’s Quds Force in a drone attack in Baghdad that marked a change in how this nation would take opportunities to target Iran where it could. 

But let's remember the incredible resolve, bravery, and sacrifices of the Ukrainian people, who fought magnificently in the face of overwhelming odds to hold off Russia. History will remember that their tenacity removed Russia as Damascus's key benefactor and contributed significantly to the end of 50 years of brutal dictatorship under the Assad Family. 

Americans must realize that we are forever entwined in the affairs of this planet. Our support even in the face of our domestic problems by steadfastly supporting those allies and friends globally is the difference between success and failure. 

This is a moment to celebrate for us as a nation, to pray for the freedom of the Syrian people, and the security of Israel, and fear we are causing those who would wish us harm. 

Peace through strength and no one does it better than the United States of America!!
