WAYNE COUNTY, PA — Representative Jeff Olsommer (R-Pike/Wayne) on February 24 celebrated that Lehigh and South Canaan townships will receive funding through the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Multimodal Transportation Fund.
Lehigh Township will receive $468,204 for streetscape improvements, and South Canaan Township will receive $130,532 to replace the South Baker Road Bridge.
“Projects like these ultimately add to the beautification and safety of our communities,” said Olsommer. “I was pleased to support the townships receiving this funding, and I look forward to seeing the finished products.”
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth. Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
