I am running for the position of supervisor because I feel that the town has many issues that are coming up, and that I have the experience to assist in taking on and addressing these issues. What I see as one of the largest issues is the condition of the infrastructure of the water department. Our aging system has not been given the due attention that it needs in planning for the future of the system and the replacement of those components that are aged or in ill repair. Neglecting the maintenance upgrades has begun to take a toll on the system itself. This becomes not only an inconvenience to the users of the system, in the form of low pressure or boil alerts during repairs, but a safety issue when fire departments will not hook to hydrants due to inoperable hydrants, stuck valves or other issues they identify.

The town is in the process of beginning an update to the town comprehensive plan. This plan was last done when I was the supervisor, and at that time we did a ground up rewrite of the entire document, with the assistance of the Sullivan County Department of Planning.

During my time as supervisor I worked with local, county, state and federal officials on projects on behalf of the town and am familiar with the operations of the town government.

Having served as supervisor for three terms I am familiar with how to effectively approach the issues of the town and resolve them. Government projects move slow as we all know, but they do not need to move as slow as we have seen in the past here in town. Efficient and effective leadership helps to keep projects on point and moving and that is what I am capable of bringing to the town board as supervisor.
