I have lived in Lava over 66 years. I raised my family here. Two of my children are still here raising their families in Tusten.

I graduated from Narrowsburg Central School, class of 1968. (There are still a few of us in Narrowsburg.) I proceeded from Narrowsburg Central School to SUNY at Morrisville where I earned an associate’s degree in natural resources.

I then went to work for NYSDEC Region 3. In the 35 years I worked for NYSDEC Region 3, I inspected waste-water plants, water plants, industrial plants, Army Corps flood-control projects, dams and too many citizen complaints to count. I was a NYS-certified grade-three waste-water operator and NYS-certified code-enforcement officer.

I was the DEC Region 3 flood-plan manager, working with code-enforcement officers from Long Island to Roscoe. I have had incident command training part one and two and used it during flood events. Following flood events, I worked with FEMA and code-enforcement officers to get people safely back into their homes. After the 2006 flood, Tusten had 40 flood-damaged homes. I worked with the new code enforcement officer inspecting the homes.
I would bring my life experiences to the benefit of the Town of Tusten. I was a commissioner on the Greenwood Lake Interstate commission representing NYS DEC. I was the president of the Tusten Cocheton Tax Payers Association. I served five years on the Narrowsburg School Board as a member and vice president.

After retiring from the NYSDEC, I have been the manager at the Town of Delaware waste-water plant in Callicoon.

I would want Tusten to remain a place where you can still raise a family. As a board member, I would work on maintaining and improving the town’s infrastructure while keeping the costs down.
Thank you for your support.
