Tri-Gal 4-H holds December meeting

HONESDALE, PA — Tri-Gal 4-H Club met at 7 p.m. on December 3 for their December meeting at the Elegante restaurant in Honesdale.

We started by doing two community service projects. The first one was making sugar-cookie gift bags for the Damascus food pantry. Each bag was made up of sugar-cookie mix, frosting and two cookie cutters. The gift bags were distributed on the December food pantry day.

Our second project was wrapping the gifts for the family we adopted for Christmas, a favorite project each year. Our club receives a family from the Damascus Manor Church and we shop for them.

Tri-Gal 4-H completed additional December community service projects, including donations and holiday cards for the VA hospital in Wilkes-Barre and St. Francis Commons in Scranton. These items were delivered on December 10.

Cards and candy canes will also be going to the Gino Merli Veterans Center in Scranton.

Our club also participated in the Wayne County 4-H Teen Council Card Challenge and made cards that will be sent to Ellen Memorial, Bethany Village and Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.

Before the business meeting began, our club enjoyed a Christmas pizza party. We would like to extend a huge thank-you to the person who covered the expense of the party. Your generosity is truly appreciated.

Our ice-breaker before the meeting was a game to see who could make the most words out of the word “Christmas” in one minute.

During the meeting, we started planning and preparing for late winter, spring and even the 2022 fair season. Our club will have a winter break for the months of  January and February and meet again in March.
