Town Of Delaware candidates hold meet and greet

Posted

COCHECTON, NY — On Thursday, October 8, John Erik Karkula and Tess McBeath, Democratic candidates for town council and town clerk respectively, held a meet and greet at the Cochecton Pump House. McBeath, Delaware’s town clerk for the past 23 years, is running  unopposed; this is Karkula’s first time running for town council. Speaking with the River Reporter at the event, Karkula said that many of the people who attended the event said they did not regularly vote during the midterm elections. Local elections are often won by five to 20 votes, he said, and he encouraged local residents to make their voices heard at the polls.
