MILWAUKEE, WI — Planning a trip to Wisconsin?
If so, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum recently unveiled an officially licensed, limited-edition series of The Three Stooges Talking Bobbleheads, featuring Moe, Larry, Curly and Shemp. The unveiling coincided with Curly’s birthday, which was on October 22, 1903.
Each bobblehead is unique and were produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, licensed from C3 Entertainment, the company founded by three Three Stooges themselves, Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Joe DeRita.
Known for their physical farce and slapstick humor, the Three Stooges began as part of a vaudeville comedy act in the 1920s. From 1934 to 1959, the Three Stooges starred in 190 pictures and then made six hit feature films in the 1960s.
They are best remembered for some of their most popular sayings, including “Why I oughta …,” “You knucklehead,” “Oh, a wise guy, eh?” and “Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk!”. The Three Stooges have remained popular over 60 years since their last short film was released.
At the beginning of the 21st century, they remained in the public eye through television reruns and the merchandising of their images on commercial products. An original all new movie, “The Three Stooges,” starring a new cast, was released in 2012.
Bearing their name on the base, each talking Three Stooges bobblehead plays a familiar saying at the touch of a button. Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,024, and they are available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in early December, cost $35 each or $135 for the set of four plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, WI, opened to the public on February 1, 2019. The museum also produces customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as to organizations, individuals and teams across the country.
