The Sadies to headline Roots & Rhythm

HONESDALE, PA — The Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Festival has announced that The Sadies will be the headliners for this year’s event on June 16. Also on the stage will be Sour Bridges, Whiskey Killers and Bobby Kyle and the Administrators.

The Sadies (www.thesadies.net) are an alt-country band out of Toronto with a punk-rock attitude. Their most recent album, “Northern Passages,” has been described not only as a masterpiece, but one filled with “psych-folk touches that blend the sounds of our inscrutable world, and how we manage to survive in it.” (J. Schneider.)

Sour Bridges (https://www.sourbridgesmusic.com/about) combines ingredients from the high plains of Texas, the hills of Pennsylvania and the red dirt of Oklahoma, offering the best hand-clapping, foot-stomping Browngrass—like bluegrass, just a little dirtier—that Austin has to offer. The Whiskey Killers bring high energy American roots music to audiences throughout the USA with a blend of country, blues, Tejano and rock music. Band members include Honesdale native Patrick Sampson. Bobby Kyle (www.bobbykyle.com/index.html) has a career as a well-respected songwriter, guitarist, vocalist and producer that spans 40 years. He is a 2015 inductee to the Pennsylvania Blues Hall of Fame.
