The Orange County 4-H Calf & Livestock Sale is back

OTISVILLE, NY — Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Orange County will hold the 27th annual Orange County 4-H Calf & Livestock Sale on Saturday, May 10 starting at 5 p.m. at the Education Center and 4-H Park.

The event will include a live animal sale with larger auction block items, a silent auction with country and farm-related items, gift certificates and more.

Dinner from Dave’s Devil Dogs will also be available for purchase.

The sale is a chance for local dairy and livestock farmers, homesteaders, agricultural businesses and those interested in agriculture to get together, converse and promote their agricultural businesses and practices, a CCE staff person said.

Through this fundraising event, the Orange County 4-H Dairy & Livestock programs can provide programming and other educational opportunities to 4-H members. The Orange County 4-H program offers educational contests, workshops/seminars, project meetings, trips, a chance to work with local farmers and take care of project animals, leadership skill development, community service and much more.

Parents, volunteers, agriculture businesses and partners help CCE to hold this fundraising event every year.

And 4-H provides youth in Orange County with a chance to learn about agriculture and develop career-ready skills.

To learn more about this event, to learn how you could get your youth involved, or to learn more about the consignments and auction items, visit www.cceorangecounty.org or contact Zoe Lockburner, 4-H livestock, dairy and equine educator at 845/344-1234 or zrl7@cornell.edu.
