The Office of the Wayne County Coroner is conducting the death investigation of the deceased female discovered on a private property in Paupack Township on the afternoon of September 2, 2017.
The deceased, Jenna Burleigh was reported missing on Thursday, and a suspect was arrested the next day. The suspect is 29-year-old Joshua Huppertez, who was seen leaving a bar on campus with the 22-year-old student.
Huppertez faces a murder charge as well as tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse. ABC news reports that the body was found on property owned by Huppertez's grandmother.
Police believe the suspected moved the body to Wayne County after killing the woman in Philadelphia.
According to Temple officials, Burliegh was studying film and fine arts.
A press release from Edward Howell, the Wayne County Coroner, said, "An autopsy/post-mortem examination was conducted this morning, Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the direction of this office. The following information has been established: Decedent’s Name: Jenna Nicole Burleigh Decedent’s Age: 22 years Decedent’s Gender: Female Cause of Death: Combined Effects of Blunt Trauma and Strangulation Manner of Death: Homicide
"Note: Regardless of where a death may occur, the Coroner of the county in which human remains are initially discovered and pronounced deceased retains jurisdiction of the death investigation including identification and determination of cause and manner of death."
